Ny. Satya Graha
The film features the events taking place during the first Semanggi Tragedy, November 13th 1998. Combining fiction and real events, it uses footage from television coverage of the Semanggi shootings. Lanang, a student activist in Atmajaya University, is preparing for a mass scale demonstration at the Parliament Special Session with his friends. Lanang's mother, Mrs. Satya Graha and her friend, Jeng Tri, help the student action by providing logistics. On the same day, Novie, Lanang’s girlfriend is having her birthday. Lanang asks Novie to join the demonstration and after that, they will celebrate Novie’s birthday together. But Novie chooses to have a party at Indri’s house instead. In the afternoon, the Semanggi incident breaks. Lanang is one of the 250 victims of the shootings. Novie tries to find Lanang at the corner of Semanggi, but then she receives a call from Lanang’s friend, telling her that he is in the hospital.
Marta
In a small village, a woman's decomposed corpse turns up showing signs of having been defiled post mortem. A series of other vicious murders occur, with some of the victims' bodies being dumped in a well. Police begin to suspect a necrophiliac is responsible.
Nurhayati’s husband dies in an accident and she is left with four small children. Nur herself knows that she will not live long, as her doctor reveals that she must undergo a heart and lung transplant, with a little chance of survival. After telling the real situation to her father and to her eldest child, Asih, the children are brought to the families she considers as able to raise them. How lucky she is that the three families are eager to accept her children. On a birthday party of her youngest child, she feels at ease and dies.
Astri
Samboja, a thug who controls an area, catches Ceking and his friends who are trying to rape two girls, Dyah Setiowati and Marlina. Samboja tries to help and is stabbed. Samboja is thought to be the rapist and is arrested. One of the victims, Dyah Setiowati, defends him to the police and he is released. But this incident makes him an enemy of the drug syndicate, who the rapist Ceking works for. Although his friend, Leo, who also works for the syndicate, defends him, the drug boss orders his men to kill Samboja. Dyah, the daughter of a cultural attaché, sympathises with him, especially when she finds out that he visits the daughter of Astri, the prostitute, in the orphanage.
A village is being terrorized by an evil spirit called Kuyang or Nenek Grondong, which especially loves sucking blood from infants and pregnant women. That all coincides with a couple adopting a child that turns on them and becomes vicious and evil.
Non has been depressed for some time, as she is not accepted by the family of her husband, Hans Tobing, though they already have three children. Just when Non is finally being accepted in her husband’s family, her happiness is threatened by ovarian cancer. It traumatises the family. Hans has to sacrifice everything that he can to save his wife’s life. Fortunately, Non gets her spirit back when she realises that her children still need her. That spirit is the most important element in the process of her recovery.
