Una famosa actriz asesina a su esposo en la madrugada de Año Nuevo de 1990. Presa del pánico y de la más absoluta desesperación pide al destino una segunda oportunidad y regresar al pasado. Se trata de un remake del clásico de 1947 "Repeat Performance" (El Destino Se Repite), protagonizado por Joan Leslie y Louis Hayward. El guión está basado en la novela del escritor William O´Farrell. Regresar al pasado se estrenó por televisión el 20 de noviembre de 1989 en EEUU, siendo nominada a un premio EDGAR ALLAN POE como una de las mejore producciones televisivas del año.
