Guardians cuenta la historia de un equipo de héroes reunidos durante la Guerra Fría para combatir a un supervillano cuya marcha sobre Moscú es inevitable, principalmente porque ha logrado deshabilitar toda maquinaria, disminuyendo así al servicio militar. El equipo de héroes se llama los Guardianes y cada uno representa un poder distinto.
