La historia comienza en el momento en que el joven Keita Amano se encuentra con una pequeña cápsula en el bosque para después recibir un misterioso reloj. Así es como conoce a un fantasma que se hace llamar Whisper. Este le comenta al chico que el reloj que lleva en su muñeca le ayudará a ver todo tipo de criaturas sobrenaturales, tanto buenas como malas. A partir de ese instante, Keita vivirá una gran aventura. Tendrá que viajar 60 años atrás en el tiempo para conocer a su propio abuelo de joven, y entre los dos tratar de salvar a la humanidad.

Los Sombrero de Paja encuentran un cofre en el que se esconde una anciana con dientes de oro. Les habla sobre una isla mecánica y un legendario tesoro, a lo que el equipo y en especial Nami no se pueden resistir, por lo que deciden lanzarse a la aventura. Una vez en la isla se encuentran con Ratchet, el hijo de la anciana quien creyendo que los piratas habían secuestrado a su madre ataca a los Sombrero de Paja. Una vez aclarado el asunto deciden aliarse para encontrar el tesoro.

The third Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken movie. The story takes place between episode 35 and 36 of the TV series. After yet again defeating some of Hadlar's (the leader of the Great Demon King's Army) warriors and saving the princess, Dai and his fellow adventurers are relaxing and helping with rebuilding the island village. Unbeknownst to them Hadlar was usurped by a new demon lord called Galbus, who immediately sets forth to once and for all destroy Dai, using his own sextet of champions. During the initial surprise attack Dai's friend Maam's soul is taken and in order to get it back Dai and his friends must attack Galbus on his chosen batlleground. Will Dai survive this?

Nuclear testing has resulted in the abrupt evolution of the Fumoon, a tiny but highly intelligent humanoid race on a small island, who are detected by Dr. Yamadano. The Fumoon are kidnapping animals from around the world to bring with them as they use their space ships to evacuate the earth, because they know Earth is shortly to be destroyed by an enveloping cloud of black gas created by a stellar explosion. The Fumoon intend to abandon mankind, but one Fumoon, Rokoko, who becomes good friends with Kenichi, tries to help Dr. Yamadano and the others to develop a space ship to allow a few humans to escape, with the help of Dr. Ochanomizu and Dr. Frankenstein.
