Film dividido en tres episodios, que refleja la vida y opiniones de Nanni Moretti. «En mi Vespa» es una aproximación a la vida cotidiana de Roma durante el mes de agosto; en "Islas" visita a Gerardo, un amigo que lleva once años viviendo en Lipari; juntos recorren otras íslas como Salina, Stromboli, Panarea y Alicudi. En "Médicos" el director rueda su propia quimioterapia y su recorrido por hospitales y especialistas incapaces de diagnosticarle la causa de unos insoportables picores.

Tras ejercer sus funciones en una isla del sur de Italia, un joven sacerdote es destinado por sus superiores a una parroquia de Roma. Allí se reencontrará con su familia y con sus amigos e intentará, en la medida de sus posibilidades, cambiar las cosas; pero el fracaso lo acechará, y su posterior crisis personal y profesional le harán cuestionarse su labor dentro de la Iglesia

Leap Into the Void
Mauro, a judge, is worried about his older sister Marta, who took care of him since he was a boy, and now suffers from mental illness and suicidal thoughts. She seems to recover from her depression when Mauro acquaints her with Giovanni, a brilliant actor at the edge of legality. However, Mauro becomes unconsciously jealous of their relationship and tries to get Giovanni arrested.
