Tras quedarse viudo, Frank Fogle se embarca a regañadientes en un viaje para cumplir el último deseo de su difunta esposa: esparcir sus cenizas en un remoto lago de su país natal, Irlanda, y hacerlo junto a Sean, un hijo ex convicto con el que prácticamente ambos habían perdido el contacto.
