2005. Jimi Dini (Christopher Lambert) acepta el proyecto de diseñar Nirvana, un videojuego interactivo que debe entregar poco antes de que terminen las fiestas de Año Nuevo. Muy deprimido por el abandono de su pareja, Lisa (Emanuelle Seigner), Jimi ha caído en la amargura y la apatía. Conforme ajusta el programa, el ordenador le avisa de que un virus ha entrado en el sistema y se ha incorporado a Nirvana; el efecto de la contaminación se traduce en un estado de autoconciencia de Solo (Diego Abatantuono), el personaje central que habita los distintos niveles de dificultad del juego. Entonces Solo le pide a Jimi que lo borre del programa para ahorrarle la tortura de habitar un mundo repetitivo en estado consciente. (FILMAFFINITY)
