Theatre personality, musician, poet, writer, graphic artist, collector, self-professed clown, eternally young in spirit – all this is Jiří Suchý, one of the key figures of the domestic cultural scene over the last six decades. He has put on 97 plays at the Semafor theatre and has written the lyrics for 1,400 songs and the music for 500. Today, in an era beset by an onslaught of images that are often of questionable worth, this legendary figure’s tireless efforts to enrich the Czech language and its poetic nuances have been of inestimable value. Alemania, siglo XIX. Jake y Will Grimm son dos hermanos que se dedican a recorrer los pueblos embaucando a los pobres lugareños: primero les cuentan historias de maldiciones, espíritus y fantasmas que los acechan y después fingen salvarlos por medio de exorcismos y rituales varios. Pero, un día, llegan a un pueblo sobre el que pesa una maldición real, un pueblo situado cerca de un bosque encantado en el que recientemente han desaparecido varias niñas. Marta (Lucie Patikova) was blinded in an accident brought on by her careless and indulgent younger sister. Now in a school for the blind, Marta keeps up her hope that she will one day see again, mainly because her mother - out of good intentions - has led her to believe that the blindness is only temporary. Before long, Marta comes to realize that her condition will last until she dies, and she begins to despair, hating her mother for giving her false hope. Only a dedicated psychologist, Dr. Mos (Oldrich Navratil) seems to have the means of retrieving Marta from her depression.
