A highly evocative fable of the flaws of human ambition. It starts with a stormy debate between a man and his conscience. Torn between a rational approach and his desire to go his own way, he finally sets out on a initiatory journey that will end on a desert island. To see into the distance, he builds a lighthouse that will become his ivory tower, while the sea around him becomes the repository of his fantasies of wealth, love and glory. The Lighthouse is a visual feast. A wealth of technical and artistic inventiveness enriches the storyline. An animated film without words.

Mushrooms are deceiving. They can play tricks with your head. In this animation film, mushrooms are a powerful metaphor. Their metamorphosis suggests that life is a vast "food chain." If this is indeed our reality, can we, the consumers, escape being consumed? A film that serves up a riveting "plat du jour.

The sails are hoisted and, leaving the port, a sailboat makes us live its discovery of the sea. Subjected to the capricious mood of the weather, it sails sometimes under a burning sun to the incessant rhythm of the waves, sometimes faces the fury of the waves, then calm returns.

An animated short subject on how, if man does not want to respect objects, those objects will rise up in revolt.

Short animation from Pierre Veilleux. Honoured as best Canadian short animation in the Canadian Film Awards (precursor to the Genies). Here the animator gives vivid expression to his own memories of a child's first encounter with elementary school--at that tender age when grown-ups seem ten feet tall, a monster lurks in every corridor, and the very walls have eyes. Feeling, but not understanding, the regimentation imposed on him, the child seeks, in spite of it all, to be himself.
