Finales del verano de 2007, sur de Brasil. Joana, de 13 años, quiere averiguar por qué su tía abuela Rosa murió a los 70 años sin haber salido nunca con nadie. Animada por su amiga Carolina, Joana inicia una investigación sobre el pasado de Rosa. Al enfrentarse a los valores de su comunidad, Joana se da cuenta de que todas las mujeres de su familia tienen un secreto, mientras que algo oculto en su interior también se revela. Se sumerge en su imaginación para encontrar respuestas mientras se levanta una gran central eólica en su pequeño pueblo.
