Todos los veranos, se lleva a cabo en la isla rusa de Sakhalin, a 8000 kilómetros de Moscú, un campamento militar-patriótico para niños. Los niños son entrenados en valores nacionales y combate armado, respaldados por lecciones de la tradición rusa ortodoxa. En el verano de 2015, debido al 70 aniversario de la victoria de la armada soviética en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el campamento reconstruye una batalla histórica, donde los niños toman el rol de soldados. El film sigue a los niños en su rutina diaria de entrenamiento y en momentos recreativos, hasta la actuación final.
