A kind of film mosaic, composed of 13 separate short stories. All together they tell about one day in the life of people who are next to us in a large port city.

This five part epic war drama gives a dramatized detailed account of Soviet Union's war against Nazi Germany during world war two. Each of the five parts represents a separate major eastern front campaign.

The very first work of a young scientist Igor Panteleyev caused a sensation. Not surprisingly, they are interested in foreign intelligence. Soviet security officers are taking measures to protect the scientist. The name of Panteleyev disappears from the pages of newspapers and magazines.
