Historia

Terence Donovan was a celebrated and influential English fashion photographer of the 1960s and a director. He shot some 3000 commercials, along with documentaries and music videos such as Robert Palmer's Addicted To Love. He also directed the little seen 1973 feature film Yellow Dog, starring Jiro Tamiya. A black belt in Judo, Donovan wrote the 1985 book Fighting Judo. He committed suicide in 1996, survived by his wife Diana, and his children who include actress and presenter Daisy Donovan and the co-founder of Rockstar Games, Terry Donovan.

When pop artist Peter Blake confessed that his fantasy was to be the mysterious masked wrestler Kendo Nagasaki, who never speaks and never removes his mask, little did he know what the consequences would be. Poet and television producer Paul Yates, also fascinated by the persona of Nagasaki, read the article and proceeded to research the possibility of Blake painting Nagasaki's portrait as a centrepiece for a film which would also, he hoped, include an exclusive interview with Nagasaki himself.
