Las investigaciones del climatólogo Jack Hall indican que el calentamiento global podría desencadenar un repentino y catastrófico cambio climático de la Tierra. Hall advierte a los dirigentes políticos de la necesidad de adoptar inmediatamente medidas para evitarlo, pero sus advertencias llegan demasiado tarde: una serie de anómalos fenómenos climáticos empiezan a producirse en distintas partes del globo. El calentamiento global ha puesto el planeta al borde de una nueva era glacial.
