It is August 1941. With the battle line far away in the east, three soldiers who have managed to escape from captivity find it difficult to hide: the territory is occupied by the enemy. The local woods are not safe: you can easily get embogged. Are the villagers loyal? Nobody can say. There is an old man who offers to help them. Is he reliable enough? When a young man wants to marry a poor girl, her cousin envies her very much. She even makes everybody believe that the main character was in love with her. He escapes from many difficulties in order to find his beloved who also became trapped in a luxurious villa with some strange relatives. The people inside villa are vampires, they were called upyri in those days in Russia. They suck blood of anyone who comes to see them. The young man too much in love so he looses his head and goes directly to the nest of vampires.
En "Corazón de perro" un médico que investiga el rejuvenecimiento humano implanta en el cerebro de un vapuleado, pero amable y reflexivo perro callejero, la hipófisis de un delincuente. El perro, lejos de rejuvenecer, se transforma en un ser humano física y moralmente repulsivo, que termina por afiliarse al partido comunista y consigue ser nombrado "subdirector del subdepartamento de limpieza de animales vagabundos", convirtiendo la vida del atribulado científico en una pesadilla.
