Ambientada en un pueblo remoto de Assam, la película gira en torno a Khagen, un granjero, su esposa Numali y la hija de ambos, Kuwali. Numali se ve envuelta en un desafortunado incidente en el que es arrollada por elefantes salvajes. Khagen la lleva al hospital, pero ella termina falleciendo.
