Amino Tetsuro (アミノ テツロー, Amino Tetsurō, name in kanji: 網野 哲郎, born October 10, 1955) is a Japanese anime director from Chiba Prefecture.
He has directed noted anime series as Bakusō Kyōdai Let's & Go!!, Bubu Chacha, the Macross 7 series and its continuations Macross 7: The Galaxy's Calling Me! and Macross Dynamite 7, Shippū! Iron Leaguer, Idol Densetsu Eriko, Shiki, and most recently Rainbow Days.

Set in 2059, five decades after the Space War I conflict seen in the first Macross story. Macross Frontier, the 25th New Macross Class super-long-distance colonization fleet, is journeying through the galaxy to a new paradise to call home. However, it is locked in a state of war with a strange enemy called Vajra. Ozma Lee, the leader of the S.M.S. Skull Team that is fighting the Vajra on the frontlines, encounters a mysterious lifeform, different from even the Vajra, one day. This mysterious lifeform leaves an archival video of the Macross 7 colonization fleet with Ozma, Ranka, and Sheryl.

Además, al llegar al pueblo de Sepiatown conoce a Amy, una niña humana de buen corazón que toca la harmónica en soledad y que es capaz de comunicarse con los insectos. Tras salvarla de la mantis religiosa Kamakichi, Amy se hace amiga de Hutch y le promete que le ayudará a encontrar a su madre.
