Historia

Nacido en Estambul y criado en Viena, el tenor Ilker Arcayürek se ha convertido en uno de los artistas vocales más emocionantes y versátiles de los últimos años, aclamado por la prensa por su 'tenor dorado' (Opera Now Magazine) y rápidamente se ha establecido 'en una clase de los suyos '(The Guardian). Es ganador del Concurso Internacional de Canción de Arte de la Academia Hugo Wolf de Alemania, finalista de la BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2015 y fue un artista de BBC Radio 3 New Generation. También fue seleccionado para actuar en las "Estrellas del mañana" de Ronaldo Vilazon para ARTE. En 2017, Champs Hill Records lanzó su primer álbum en solitario "Der Einsame", con canciones de Schubert y acompañado por Simon Lepper, con gran éxito de crítica.

This Wagner opera is rarely performed because of the scandals that engulfed the Magdeburg Theatre when it was performed in 1836 under the title The Novice of Palermo, and became known as a cursed opera from which the composer had to distance himself. Wagner's adaptation of the story reflects the rebellious mood of a Revolutionary Germany, vindicating sensual love and attack the fanatical repression of sexuality by a puritanical and hypocritical authority. As the prose says, "Shame to him whose cruel striking/Kills for faults of his own liking!". One of the most extraordinary musicals based on a text by Shakespeare, especially worthy of a new performance as it is four hundred years since the death of the Bard.
