Between 1950 and 1952, the Uruguayan essayist, critic and writer José Pedro Díaz created a film diary with images that display a range of diverse interests: social observation, the portrait of the artistic-intellectual community in Europe and a look at domestic cinema from travels, portraying his wife, the poet Amanda Berenguer. As a perfect complement he also had a literary diary. Both form a unique testimonial chronicle: how to read the script and see what was filmed. This documentary deals with that lesser-known area of Díaz's work.

Durante la década de los ‘60 se llevó a cabo en Uruguay el llamado Festival de Marcha, surgido de la revista homónima e instalado en la ciudad de Montevideo. Fue en el año 1967 que la línea de este evento dio un vuelco particular. En medio de una crisis económica y política furiosa, films cubanos eran rescatados de depósitos donde habían sido olvidados y el Mayo Francés, entre otros hechos históricos, era protagonista ahora de la pantalla grande. Bajo este contexto, con una selección mucho más ligada a temáticas políticas, con un cine mucho más combativo y problematizando diversas situaciones que azotaban a los denominados países tercermundistas. Lucía Jacob se lanza a recorrer esa apasionante historia, en la que la producción y distribución de un cine militante se posicionó como un terreno de batalla en respuesta a la coyuntura política de aquellos años.
