Una vida errante es un relato autobiográfico del dibujante Yoshihiro Tatsumi, que a través de su alter ego Hiroshi Katsumi combina su propia história con el boom del manga, sobretodo gracias a Osamu Tezuka. Tatsumi se ha hecho un lugar en el olimpo de los mangakas gracias al gekiga, su estilo con un dibujo mucho más realista que el manga de la época, y histórias con un carácter más adulto.
