Iori Igarashi works as a radiographer at a general hospital. One day, An learns that her father is in serious condition. Her father was the only practicing doctor at a small clinic on a remote island. When An arrives, her father tells her to be a doctor who sees patients as a person and not a disease before he passed away. An decides to stay on the island because of a patient that her father cared about. A massive typhoon soon hits the island and a landslide then occurs. An unknown infectious disease spreads afterwards on the island. Iori knows that An is struggling on the remote island and he makes a decision for An and the residents of the island.

This special focuses on Police Inspector Takayama Ryosuke (Kagawa Teruyuki) who had been secretly supplying police information to the organized crime group, the Oda-gumi. Once a young street thug, Takayama was taken under the wing of Oda Hironari (Kohinata Fumiyo), the leader of Oda-gumi. Dressed, fed, and educated, Takayama was instructed to become a police officer and work as a mole for the group. Now, he is tasked to get close to Suenaga Mari (Aoi Yu), a daughter of an influential politician.

Two men, a detective and a gang member, infiltrate each other's organization. Soon they find their fates intertwined.

This show is based on the jidaigeki TV series “Hissatsu Shigotonin,” which has had several seasons between the 1970s and the 1990s. Shigotonin is a group of hired assassins to bring justice to those who were able to escape the long arm of the law. Noriyuki Higashiyama and Masahiro Matsuoka return from the 2009 special. In the year 1716 a mysterious epidemic stickens men in the country of Japan, dropping the population of men to 1/4th of its prior state. A young man named Unoshin Mizuno hopes to marry childhood sweetheart Onobu, but due to class differences realizes this is almost impossible. To raise his social status and also save his poor family, Unoshin Mizuno enters the Ohoku (inner chambers of the Shugun's castle) and attempts to vie among 3,000 other men for the affection of the female shogun. What Unoshin Mizuno quickly learns about the Ohoku is that the men there are all beautiful, but highly ambitious and conniving. In this environment, the 7th shogun Tokugawa passes away and the new shogun Yoshimune Tokugawa takes the thrown and enters the Ohoku.

This show marks the return of the jidaigeki series "Hissatsu Shigotonin," which has had several seasons between the 1970s and the 1990s. The franchise came back in 2007 with a one-shot special, but this is its first full season since 1992. Makoto Fujita returns as the protagonist Nakamura Mondo, one of the "shigotonin," a team of hired assassins.

The story is set in Chiran, Kagoshima, the site of a secret base used to launch kamikaze missions during the war. At the time, a group of young girls known as the Nadeshiko Tai were gathered to help out at the base. The drama will be part documentary and it is based on the experiences of 78-year-old Shoko Nagasaki, a survivor of the Nadeshiko Tai.

This marks the 34th film in the series of Tange Sazen, and involves an Urn that is worth a million Ryo!.
