The Tenryu Gumi is a collection of misfits and other troublemakers but are relatively peaceful due to their Christian beliefs. La película se estrenó en el cine justo antes de estrenarse "Ashita no Joe-2", contando con una calidad de imagen remasterizada respecto a la serie original, una nueva OST, dos nuevos temas de Apertura y Cierre y siendo re-doblada de nuevo, contando en el elenco con algunos nuevos actores de voz debido al tiempo transcurrido respecto al anime original, sirviendo así de prologo recordatorio e introductorio a la segunda serie.
