Esta película se ubica en el tiempo presidencial de Plutarco Elías Calles, justamente unos años después de la revolución mexicana, en donde este presidente buscaba la represión religiosa castigando así a todos los sacerdotes y practicantes, en un intento por eliminarlos. En un principio crea leyes donde dice que no pueden hacer publicas sus practicas o vestimentas, pero en cuanto la otra parte no esta conforme con esto y se niega a obedecer este mandato se comienza a usar la fuerza bruta, fusilando y torturando a estas personas para dar el “ejemplo” y que la gente lo deje de hacer.
