Adam and Steve are two astronauts with a mission: they have to send space samples to Earth with the help of a robot. This work turns out to be extremely boring and tedious, especially for Steve who, carried away by his overwhelming loneliness, begins to see very familiar faces in the stones of the planet.

Fussel, the friendly monster, finds the beginning of a red string. This sparks his interest and he heads out to find out what's at the end. On his journey he meets different looking monsters, of which everyone has its own theory about the end of the string. Curiously they join Fussel on his journey. Being different isn't a problem in this group and together they head out to face challenges on their way to becoming friends.

Kiki’s journey leads her to her Grandfather, a former general in the Bolivian dictatorship of 1964 – a dictatorship famous for the collaboration with Klaus Barbie, the killing of Che Guevara and the San Juan Massacre. Kiki’s Grandfather did not only bring the curse to her family, but to the entire country. A karmic confrontation with the past has begun: Is there a cure for the curse?
