Salah works as an engineer who specializes in building permits. He's known for his integrity and takes care of his sick mother. One day a charge is fabricated for him, and he's unjustly imprisoned. After serving his sentence, Salah goes after those who imprisoned him to take revenge on them.

Hassan and Tawhida work in the phone company. They listen in on calls and discover many secrets and crimes, which makes them blackmail the callers and report them to the police. After making a lot of money, they get married and Tawhida wants them to leave their old ways behind.

Al-Aseel Mahrous decides to marry his neighbor Zaynab despite his mother's objection to her because she is divorced and permanent. She is harassed by her husband, who harasses her on the day of her marriage to Mahrous, who kills him in self-defense, and enters prison for three years. What he discovers is that he tries to exploit her as a woman to complete his deals, and resort to Mahrous after his release from prison to help her get rid of him.

After he gets released from prison, where he spent seven years, Salah works with his cell mate Saad in trading currency with a powerful man, and he collects a big fortune, ignoring his lover Ilham's advice, who got married during his imprisonment to a big currency trader.

A simple minded peasant was recruited in the Egyptian army where he was deceived to believe that political activists are his homeland enemies, but not for so long.

Kamel Abdel Shakour, is a general manager at one of the Ministry of Industry companies, who's known for his integrity. An employee tries to convince him to get him a commission, and he refuses despite his difficult financial conditions.

The events take place in Wikalet El-Balah, where Master Nehmatullah takes controls of the trade in the region by getting rid of her competitors. She marries the poor young Abdullah and makes him in charge of everything which turns the events upside down.

The film tells the story of 3 navy officers, Samir, Ahmed and Sherif who go back to their houses and wives for only 24 hours vacation after spending 6 months on duty aboard the ship. But instead of being welcomed after their long absence, their wives ignore them completely because of their doubts in their husbands' loyalty during long absence. But later on, the wives were proven wrong and they forgive their husbands who get another 24 hours vacation.

A Man in Our House is a 1961 Egyptian film about the resistance to British rule in Egypt which ended in the exile of King Farouk in 1954 and the rise to power of Gamal Abdel Nasser.
