En un sombrío futuro plagado de zombis, Carolyn lucha para sobrevivir día a día con su amante, Maddy. Pero a Maddy le cuesta mucho dejar atrás el pasado, mientras que Carolyn solo vive por hoy, porque es lo único con lo que puede contar. La historia se desarrolla en una línea de tiempo invertida, paralela a la necesidad de la pareja de aferrarse a su pasado para mantener viva su relación actual.
