Los payasos y la comida rápida son recientes iconos del horror en el imaginario colectivo. Mackenzie (Leighton Meester) y sus amigos, estudiantes de instituto de estética emo, van a comprobar la veracidad de esta afirmación en sus carnes cuando empiecen a ser destripados a hachazos por Horny el payaso, la mascota de la cadena de hamburgueserías Hella Burger. Tras celebrar una fiesta desmadrada con abundancia de alcohol y drogas, los chicos descubren que una amenaza se cierne sobre ellos gracias a la ouija.
