Good Portuguese People
Cinematography
Using film and television footage taken during the revolutionary movement of April 25, 1974 in Portugal, and mixing it with music and live interviews with common people, the director conveys a vivid account of the period in which a military coup evolved to a socialist revolution, then was tempered into a formal European style democracy.
Tiaga
Director of Photography
Tiaga tells the story of a poor old woman, played by Isabel de Castro, to whom a good wizard offers the gift of youth to reward the help she provided him. A version of “Faust” seen through the female eye and featuring some unusual moments, such as a shot of a black goat while José Afonso sings, as well as nightmare sequences in which Tiaga is chased by the devil.
Madrugada
Director of Photography
A young agricultural conductor, Pedro goes to Alentejo to work in a farm, in March 1974. The contact with the workers and the experience of their problems make him aware of the exploitation to which they are subject. Such an attitude is not understandable to the workers - coming from the son of a friend of the boss.
As Armas e o Povo

Film directors with hand-held cameras went to the streets of Lisbon from April 25 to May 1, 1974, registering interviews and political events of the Portuguese "Carnations Revolution", as that period would be later known.
