A phantom thief queen—whose age and gender are unknown—flies around the world on an airship in search of treasure. A gemstone the queen had their sights on is stolen from them by a mysterious circus troupe, and a game soon unfolds between the queen and the troupe's magicians, hypnotists, and other members wielding special abilities.

Yuta Okkotsu es un nervioso estudiante de instituto que sufre un grave problema: su amiga de la infancia Rika se ha convertido en una maldición y no le deja en paz. Nodoka and the others obtain something known as the "Dream Pendant" which gives them the ability to see holographic images of various things in Tokyo. These things vary from fish to animals to sweets!

The story begins when the protagonist Hikaru meets aliens Lala, Prunce, and Fuwa while watching the night sky. She learns of the “Star Palace,” where the 12 Star Princesses of the constellations kept the balance of the universe until they were attacked. Lala is searching for the legendary Precure warriors to help find the 12 scattered “Princess Star Color Pens” and revive the princesses. When Fuwa is captured by an enemy, Hikaru wishes to save Fuwa, and a Star Color Pendent and a Star Color Pen appear to allow her to transform into Cure Star. From then on she works to collect the pens and raise Fuwa, who is the key to reviving the princesses.

Tras acceder a la Universidad, Hinako se muda a un pueblo de la costa. Allí se dedica a coger olas, pues se siente invencible cuando surfea, pera sigue sin tener claro qué le depara el futuro. Cuando se desata un fuego en el pueblo, Hinako conoce al joven bombero Minato. A medida que ambos comparten su tiempo mientras se dedican a su deporte favorito, Hinako comienza a darse cuenta de que lo que más desea en el mundo es, como Minato, ayudar a otras personas.
