Jessica moves into a loft on the eighth floor of a Los Angeles apartment building called The Dante. The other tenants all seem friendly at first, but when she starts witnessing horrible deaths, she must team up with her neighbor Evan (Doom) to solve the mystery -- and uncover her own connection to the place.

Es la historia de una familia, símbolo de la oligarquía, que durante más de 50 años manejó el país como si fuera su propia estancia. Sus integrantes, alejados de la realidad que se aproxima, sordos a los rumores de un mundo que va cambiando sus estructuras, e indiferentes a todo lo que no sea ellos mismos y un poco a la manera de los personajes de Chejov, sueñan un sueño del que despertarán abruptamente con la llegada de Juan Domingo Perón en 1945. Todas estas circunstancias, transcurridas entre 1938 y 1945, son recordadas por una singular mujer, la institutriz inglesa Miss Mary (Julie Christie).
