Australia Writer-Director Ilanthirayan 'Alan' Arumugam was born in 1978 . Alan's creative journey started with a passion in poetry and writing, which further developed into directing Stage Plays and Cultural Events in University where he studied Business Administration and Accounting. Alan recalls the short film 'Copy Shop' (2001) by Virgil Widrich to be an eye-opener in his taste and perspective of Film making. With an appreciation for world films, he also gratefully attributes many of his script and character ideas to his unusual real-life experiences. Alan operates from Ysa Screen Media, an Australia-based creative studio which aims to create ground-breaking films to entertain global audiences by adding new flavors and visual patterns, blending realism and enthralling narrations.
Having completed a Supernatural Thriller flick, Aiyai: Wrathful Soul in early 2020, which has received multiple awards and selections from Film Festivals around the world, Alan is working on the preproduction of his ambitious Action Thriller, Rocada His forthcoming directorial slate (in order of succession) are Rocada (In Development), The Nine Knights, and The Forgotten 1943.
Rocada, Planned as a Hollywood / Australian co-production to be shot in Australia, brings to the screen a collection of distinct, eclectic characters which drive a fast-paced, stunt-laden, thriller story of Adrenaline-pumping misdirection with wide appeal.
In his own words, "In the pursuit of my filmmaking quest, I have learned the value of a life well-lived from reading human minds and attributes, exploring life's eccentricities, and admiring the beauty and might of nature. I would like to delve into various genres, come up with unique ways of storytelling to establish special connections with my audience and stir their imaginations to whole new levels".
