Una noche de pesadilla se desarrolla para David, un ex periodista del New York Times, cuando él y su nuevo y extraño vecino, Robert, golpean accidentalmente a una chica en su bicicleta. Aturdido y desorientado, David deja que Robert lo convenza de huir de la escena y dejar a la niña por muerta, para proteger su carrera. Robert no muestra remordimiento y, en nombre de la amistad, hace cosas indescriptibles para proteger el secreto. Ahora que la policía está buscando al asesino que se da a la fuga, las cosas comienzan a salirse de control cuando el periódico local de David lo envía a cubrir la historia en la que conoce a la hermana de la niña fallecida, Vanessa. A pesar de las circunstancias y de su profundo deseo de encontrar al asesino de su hermana, los dos inmediatamente tienen una conexión romántica, que sorprende y atormenta a David, mientras empuja a Robert a tomar medidas brutales para quedarse con su nuevo amigo.

The fight of two relatives for Emily’s heart changes the fate of both men and the maid, so she can see sunshine through the tears.
