Aristóteles y Dante Descubren los Secretos del Universo es una película basada en la novela homónima del autor estadounidense Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Ambientada en El Paso, Texas, en 1987, la novela sigue a dos adolescentes mexicano-estadounidense, Aristóteles "Ari" Mendoza y Dante Quintana, su amistad y como lidian con su identidad étnica y racial, sexualidad y relaciones familiares.
