Tras pelearse con unos productores que no entienden nada de su trabajo, Marc, un excéntrico director de cine, huye con su película para terminarla. Acompañado de su fiel equipo, se esconde en un pequeño pueblo rural de Francia con su tía Denise, su mejor consejera. Allí, su creatividad se manifiesta en un millón de ideas que lo sumergen en un extraño caos.
