Historia

John Mateer is a filmmaker from New York City. He owns and operates Riot Motion LLC (a post-production company) out of the East Village in Lower Manhattan. Mateer first started his career in 2007 when he began editing and filming shorts for local organizations in his hometown. He famously recorded a clip during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, which was among the first videos of the age of social media to hit viral status and subsequently found him featured in numerous documentaries and television shows. Mateer is most notable for his works in social Justice and for using film and editing to emphasize the importance of issues faced by the unheard within our society. This is a staple of his post-production company, Riot Motion LLC, as well.
