Benedict Webb is a 22-year-old writer-director. Sensitive, tender, and reserved stories around male vulnerability are at the forefront of his films.
Aged 18, he wrote and directed 'Next Week' for Channel 4 Random Acts starring actor Mick Ford (Scum), a tender story of a grandson looking after his grandad with Alzheimer's. Benedict's film 'Soft', about a young man's struggle with manhood and toxic masculinity, has since amassed over 100,000 views online. His latest film ‘Toast’, a film starring Roger Sloman (EastEnders, Nut’s In May) premiered at BIFA Qualifying Little Wing Film Festival in October. It has since been nominated for 3 awards at National Youth Awards in London for Best Screenplay, Editing and Lead Actor. In 2022, Benedict won the Depict 2022 Royal Photographic Society Award at the BAFTA Qualifying Encounters Film Festival for his film ‘wherever, next’.
