He is a great-grandson of accordionist Auguste Breaux, grandson of accordionist Amadie Breaux, son of guitarist Preston Breaux, big brother of accordionist Jimmy Breaux and brother of drummer Gary Breaux. Guitarist Cleoma Breaux was his great-aunt.
