Emanuel Navarrete makes the second defence of his WBO super featherweight title when he takes on fellow Mexican Oscar Valdez at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

WBO featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete will face Liam Wilson for the sanctioning body’s vacant junior lightweight title in a February 3rd ESPN main event at Glendale, Arizona’s Desert Diamond Arena.

Emanuel Navarrete is set to face Eduardo Baez on Saturday 20th August 2022 at Pechanga Arena in California.

The World Boxing Organisation World Feather Champion Emanuel Navarrete will defend his title against Christopher Diaz. Navarrete won the title in 2020 when he gained weight and change the division. His opponent was Ruben Villa. Navarrete is a former WBO World Super Bantam Champion with 5 successful defences of the title. Christopher Diaz is former WBO NABO Super Feather Champion. He has only one successful defence of the title but is but he is battle-tested, having challenged Masayuki Ito for the WBO junior lightweight world title in July 2018. Diaz rebounded from a 2019 points loss to Shakur Stevenson, besting former world title challenger Jason Sanchez over 10 rounds last June inside the MGM Grand Las Vegas Bubble.

Top of this bill is monster Mexican puncher, Emanuel Navarrete (31-1,1NC KO27), and he attempts to become a two-weight World Champion as he challenges for the vacant WBO Featherweight title left behind by Shakur Stevenson. Opposing Navarrete will be California’s Ruben Villa (18-0, KO5), who has fought nowhere near world level, but is unbeaten, and earns his shot following a spell as WBO International champion.
