Lianella Carell (6 May 1927 – 22 December 2000) was an Italian film actress and screenwriter. She appeared in 18 films between 1948 and 1958. She is perhaps best known for playing Maria Ricci, the wife of the main protagonist in the 1948 Vittorio De Sica film Bicycle Thieves, which was also her acting debut.

Tras terminar la segunda guerra mundial, Bruno (Raf Vallone), vuelve a su tierra tras haber sido puesto en libertad de un campo de prisioneros en Rusia. Su única motivación por esta vuelta, es vengar la muerte de su hermano fusilado por los alemanes al haber sido delatado por alguien del pueblo. Al llegar nadie quiere contarle quien fue el culpable (ni tan siquiera su propia madre), todos sus vecinos insisten en que se olvide del asunto, que todo es agua pasada y es mejor dejarlo estar. Una noche, uno de sus vecinos le dice que se asegure de que nadie le vea y que le siga a cierta distancia hasta su casa, pues tiene algo muy importante que contarle.
