The alarm tells the strange experiences faced by a group of characters in a near and dystopian future. No one knows exactly why, but it is impossible to go outside. A couple is forced to live with an unknown family while the world beyond the windows of their house seems to disintegrate forever. But the biggest threat of all might be inside, in the exact center of the dining room table. Or at the bottom of the nightstand drawer. Or in the past.
Lo que comienza como una ordinaria junta en un edificio de apartamentos tradicional para votar la renovación del ascensor, se convierte en un inesperado debate sobre los límites de la convivencia pacífica.
El fantasma de la abuela Irene (Carmen Maura) se aparece a sus hijas Raimunda (Penélope Cruz) y Sole (Lola Dueñas), a su nieta Paula (Yohana Cobo), a la tía de las hijas (Chus Lampreave) e incluso a una vecina (Blanca Portillo) en el pueblecito de La Mancha donde viven. La abuela ha vuelto para atar los cabos que le quedaron sueltos en vida.
