The IEK team investigates the corpse of 1970s-disappeared flower girl Monika Rothmann, both burned and suffocated as drowned. She was believed to have abandoned husband Herbert and daughter Anja without a trace, but it turns out she started a new life as a political and environmental activist, yielding potential motives and suspects, but also an adulterous affair.

Despite her blindness, the famous singer Sophie Martell, who lives in Venice, has remained a cheerful, optimistic woman. However, she does not look forward to much, as her agent David hired journalist Eike Blohm to write Sophie's biography. But soon the idiosyncratic woman falls in love with her sensitive biographers. David, however, is not at all thrilled with Sophie's love affair: he fears that this could expose his scams and embezzlement of Sophie's private assets.

Manni es un ladrón de poca monta que acepta participar en un gran golpe: vender unos diamantes robados por cien mil marcos que debe entregar a mediodía a un traficante. Pero pierde la bolsa que contiene el dinero en el metro de Berlín. Como último recurso, llama a su novia, Lola (de veinte años, cabellos rojos, frágil pero decidida), y le explica la situación. Son las once y cuarenta minutos; si en veinte minutos Manni no ha recuperado el dinero, es hombre muerto. Desesperada, la joven se precipita hacia la capital. Tiene veinte minutos para encontrar cien mil marcos, reunirse con Manni y salvar al hombre de su vida.
