Francisco José debe casarse y, aunque su madre ya ha pensado en Helena, una joven princesa bávara, el emperador se enamora perdidamente de Elizabeth (Sissi), una joven espontánea y poco convencional que detesta el protocolo de la Corte. A pesar de que su decisión no contará con la aprobación de su madre, el joven enamorado hará de su espléndida boda con Sissi la primera victoria en el frente familiar.
Sissi se muestra hábil no sólo con los asuntos de estado, sino también con Sofía, su conflictiva suegra, que aprovecha cualquier ocasión para inventar falsos romances entre Sissi y el conde Andrassy con el objetivo de romper el matrimonio entre la emperatriz y su hijo. He is arrested and sent to prison. When the plague breaks out, he manages to get out of prison, but accidentally ends up in a mass grave for victims of the plague
Alois, Wendelin, Schani and Franz operate an auto repair shop in Vienna. One evening, Alois fishes the suicidal Hannerl out of the Danube and takes her to live with him. The timid and taciturn woman soon disappears however, and with her, a large amount of cash out of the shop's cash register. A disappointed Alois wishes to forget about her, but his three friends look for Hannerl and the money. As it turns out, she's married to the smuggler Kerrylis, who forces her to take part in his business; that's why she tried to kill herself. When Kerrylis is found dead, Alois is suspected of being the murderer.
Im weißen Rößl (English title: White Horse Inn or The White Horse Inn) is an operetta or musical comedy by Ralph Benatzky and Robert Stolz in collaboration with a number of other composers and writers, set in the picturesque Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria. It is about the head waiter of the White Horse Inn in St. Wolfgang who is desperately in love with the owner of the inn, a resolute young woman who at first only has eyes for one of her regular guests.
