The Little Match Girl is a short story by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a dying child's hopes and dreams, and was first published in 1845. This adaptation was made for Harlech TV and broadcast on 28th December 1986 and starred Twiggy and Roger Daltrey, and features the song 'Mistletoe and Wine' which became a Christmas number one for Cliff Richard in 1988, the biggest selling record of that year.
La joven, bonita e inocente Fanny Hill ha perdido a sus padres y debe encontrar su camino en la vida en medio de los peligros de la turbulenta Londres del siglo 18. Ella tiene la suerte de encontrar rápidamente un lugar como camarera de la efusiva señora Brown. La señora Brown vive en una gran casa llena de mujeres "parientes" en negligé y con modales muy relajados. También insiste en que Fanny se encuentre con varios señores que muestran un interés ferviente en Fanny.
Norman Pitkin is the assistant helping to run a small, old fashioned dairy which is threatened by a larger, modern organisation. Pitkin does his best to save the dairy (and his horse) and the usual chaos ensues
