Screenplay
Shamoto tiene una pequeña tienda de peces tropicales que le permite una aburrida pero estable vida. Su segunda esposa Taeko, no se lleva muy bien con su hija Mitsuko, y eso le preocupa. Además, él también se siente de algún modo incompleto e insatisfecho con la vida que tiene. Un día, Mitsuko es sorprendida robando en un almacén. Allí se encontrará con un amable hombre llamado Murata que la ayudará a calmar las cosas entre ella y el director de la tienda. Murata también es dueño de una tienda de peces, y entre ellos nacerá una amistad. Mitsuko empezará a trabajar para Murata y vivir en su casa para evitar conflictos con su madrastra.
