Ahmad, (Ahmad Razvi) era un famoso cantante de rock pakistaní que emigró a Estados Unidos y ahora se dedica a vender café, té y rosquillas con su carrito en las calles de en Manhattan. La rutina de Ahmad cambia al conocer a la nueva dependienta del kiosco donde suele comprar el tabaco; se trata de Noemí (Leticia Dolera), una joven española que se convertirá en su amiga y en su apoyo para paliar la soledad.
