A Film crew is documenting the behavior patterns of two mock-commando units comprised of adolescent boys admist a paintball war, while they search for hidden prototype of a revolutionary military weapon in the Boreal forest. The rivaling teams are requipped with only basic supplies of food and water, a compass and a map as means of surviving in the deep woods. Eddie Laroche, a rebellious native leader spawned a national crises when he and his supporters declared the independence of Aki territory in a far-flung area of northern Quebec. He refused to negotiate without the presences of television cameras to record his people's plight. Jean Fontaine was the reporter assigned to the story and much of the film is told from his viewpoint. To reach Laroche's land, negotiators, government officials, and the film crew had to travel by boat. Fontaine is initially cynical and reluctant to do the story, but after he spends time on the boat interviewing it's passengers, his cynicism has dissolves and he realizes he is faced with the presentations of a terribly complex situation. "I joined the army so I could travel and see the country. I saw Northern Ontario during training exercises. In the first few days, I fell secretly in love with another soldier. That's when I asked to be released from the army. I had a super 8 camera with me, so I could film stuff to show my mother on leave. This film tells a story, but not exactly the one I'd intended..."

This documentary was made at the request of Vidéographe on the occasion of the Montreal Olympic Games and as part of the series Sports à part. A broad perspective on the world of bodybuilding, it calls on cultural analysts and trainers as well as a few of those vying for the title of Mr. Montreal to give the viewer insight into the mindset and motivations of the bodybuilder.
