Ashok was brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra and did his schooling at Fatima High School, Vidyavihar and Vani Vidyalaya (Mulund, Mumbai). He then graduated with Majors in Sociology, Psychology & Hindi Literature from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.
