Screenplay
Ten-year-old Frantisek is traveling to Leipzig to visit his German friend Egon. On the train, he shares the compartment with three men. One of them, the bearded, hefty Blasius is polite but at times acts very confused. At the end station the two boys meet, but they must first of all get rid of Blasius, who lifts them up together with their luggage and carries them away. Leipzig is packed with tourists who have gathered for the famous Fair. The eccentric bearded fellow deals effectively with the traffic jam in front of the station. Blasius's fellow travelers from the train - inventors Prantl and Pirwitz, are at the fairground, boasting of their new invention and claiming it to be the greatest surprise of the entire Fair.
Story
By ship and train Heinrich, the Deer gets to the local zoo where he's greeted bey a group of children. With the winter arriving and snow falling, Heinrich explores the surroundings - even outside his compound...

Erfurt is host to a large pioneer meeting. From all over the country, thousands of boys and girls travel to the Saxon city to be part of the happening. The schoolboy Tim, however, misses his train - a catastrophe for both himself and his team, since Tim is a sports ace and desperately needed in the competition. Without further ado, the boy decides to hitchhike to Erfurt. The journey turns out to be full of adventures and it ends with a triumph for Tim and his team.

An old ruin serves as the favorite playground for Christine and her friends. It is also the home to a pair of storks that have built their nest there. When the ruin is meant to be demolished, Christine is eager on rescuing the helpless baby storks that are not yet fully fledged.

A young soldier discovers three chests of copper, silver and gold and an old tinder-box in the hollow of an old oak tree. He is now rich. But he squanders the money until it is all gone. All he has left is the old tinder-box. He uses it to light a small pipe and three large dogs come to his rescue. Based on the fairy-tale by Hans Christian Anderson.
