La historia comienza en Kingston (Jamaica) a finales de los 70, donde viven Biggs y Wayne, que con apenas 12 años ya quieren ser delincuentes y conseguir dinero fácil. Tras su primer robo, deciden ir a vivir a Miami, donde reside la madre de Biggs. Años después, ambos ya están de vuelta en Jamaica debido a su deportación. En EEUU han aprendido y vivido como "shottas" (gángsters), y en Jamaica no pretenden frenar su tren de vida.
