Cold-hearted and manipulative Kamla has fallen in love with a poor man and marries him and has a child named Santosh. She re-marries millionaire Kailashpathi, and has a child named Kundan from him. Years pass by, Kundan and Santosh have both grown up. Kundan is the owner of the mill with his mom, while Santosh is a struggling mill worker, and a union worker. A confrontation ensues between the mill and the workers, and Kamla is able to negotiate a settlement and get the workers back to work, but fails to keep the promise. Santosh opposes this, and she sets her goons and Kundan against him. Santosh is abducted and held prisoner by Kamla and Kundan, and the only way he can be released is when he compromises with them.

Sharda vows vengeance when her husband is murdered by his two evil cousins, Bhishamber and Bhanu, and she and her two young sons are thrown out on the street. Those sons grow into the upstanding police officer Ram and the easily tempted dreamer Lakhan. If the family is to be avenged, Ram will have to lead his brother away from the path of corruption he's strayed onto, and protect him from the influence of Bhanu and Bhishamber.

When told about this incident, Shekar shakes his head with disbelief, then changes his mind when he finds out that Indu has not only being going out with another male, but also with her boss, Mr. Dutt. Shekar must now make a decision about Indu, a decision which may well bring their marriage to an end.

The film is set in a tea garden in Assam, where a British tea estate owner Berkeley (George Baker), he falls in love with Chameli (Binita Borgohain), is local girl who works in the tea estate. Subsequently, Berkeley marries Chameli, however later finds himself accused of her murder.

On the way to the prison, a fight breaks out amongst the prisoners, and the driver loses control, killing all occupants of the van. Devastated at this turn of events, Sonia relocates and becomes a school-teacher and lives as a widow. Years later, she finds out that Sunil is still alive, now goes by the name ‘Sudhir’, is married to a rich and attractive woman named Chandni, and even has a child.

Shekhar lives a wealthy lifestyle with in widowed mother, Gauri, in Jamuna Nagar, India and manages an estate. Reshma and Shera is a romantic drama from India. Well received by the critics, it tells a Romeo and Juliet-like love story and along the way sheds light on the plight of Indian widows, who are not allowed to remarry. This film is beautifully photographed and is filled with colorful insights into Indian village life.
